Friends of the Pacific Foundation

Friends of the Pacific Foundation is a New Zealand-based trust that seeks to improve the outcomes for the poor and needy people of the Pacific by focusing on four key objectives:

To coordinate the delivery of a range of medical services by volunteers, both in teams and as individuals. This is to ensure the delivery of medical expertise that is either not available or to enable existing staff to take leave or be up-skilled.
To coordinate the collection and delivery of medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and consumables to hospitals and medical clinics. This is through a network of suppliers of new and reconditioned supplies.
To coordinate the upgrading or improvement of medical facilities.
Other charitable projects that will improve the lives of Pacific people.

To date this work has resulted in a range of teams of medical specialists and general practitioners delivering services in Fiji. We have arranged and facilitated the delivery of 60 containers of medical equipment to hospitals and medical clinics in the Western Division of Viti Levu. We have also led the upgrading of two surgical theatres at Lautoka Hospital.

As with many charities, FPF has limited funding and seeks sponsorship or financial assistance with its projects. It also seeks to form partnerships with others who share our goal of relieving the suffering of so many through the Pacific.
